Which factor is the most important when choosing the emergency battery backup driver?

There are too many types emergency battery backup drivers available on the markets, and different models are used for different led fixtures, how to choose the right emergency battery backup driver is very important for our customers? Here are the few factors need to be considered when choosing a emergency battery backup driver:

Input & Output Voltage

Regarding the emergency battery backup driver, it has the different input voltage for different markets. for example, AC100-277V and AC277-480V for US market , AC100-347V for Canada market, while AC100-240V, AC220-240V for Europe, Australia etc markets.  Besides, the output voltage is also different. some comes with AC120V, DC10-50V, DC20-50V,  DC170V, DC51-80V, DC81-155V, DC156-230V. Especially, AC100-277V input with AC120V output emergency battery backup driver EMA15FA-170 can be used for T8 led tube, AC100-347V input with DC170V output emergency battery backup driver EMUFO-25170 can be used for UFO highbay, etc. Some emergency backup driver is wiring direct to the AC input, some wiring directly to the DC output, Welcome to inquiry for the exact models.

Installation Location

The sizes of emergency battery backup drivers are different due to the wattages. thus some models can be installed inside the led fixtures, while some can be installed external. For example, The EMB08YY-050 8w emergency backup driver is small, widely installed inside the led linear strip, vapor tight, wallpack etc. The EMA15YY-050 15W emergency battery backup driver is installed external for panel, linear highbay etc. 

Battery Types

There are few battery types for the emergency battery backup driver, such as Li-ion battery, LiFePO4 battery, Ni-MH battery and so on.  How to choose the right battery? The Ambient Temperature for Li-ion and Ni-MH battery is 32~122°F(0~50°C), these two batteries can meet most applications, but the ambient temperature for LiFePO4 is 32~140°F(0~60°C), this battery can be used in waterproof enclosed space, such as led vapor tight.

Emergency Time

For North America markets, the standard emergency time for the emergency battery backup driver is 90 minutes (1.5h), while for the Europe and other markets, it requires different emergency time, 180 minutes (3H) is widely used in Europe market, but sometimes 1.5 hours is also required.
